Who is Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh?

May her soul rest in peace
 Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, the consultant physician, who had contracted the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) from the Liberian, Mr. Patrick Sawyer, died yesterdayShe died Tuesday afternoon at an isolation centre where she had been quarantined along with other doctors and nurses.
It would be recalled that the doctor few days ago pleaded with the U.S. to save her life and not allow her die.
The woman was also reported to have recovered. However, the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu on Sunday in Abuja said he never mentioned Dr Adadevoh as the female doctor who was treated and discharged of Ebola virus as reported.


A press statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Health Minister, Mr. Dan Nwomeh, said, “The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu regrets to announce the death,  of one of the primary contacts of the index Ebola Virus Disease case, the most senior doctor [Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh of First Consultants Hospital] who participated in the management of the patient, a female consultant physician.
“With this unfortunate development the total number of Ebola Virus related deaths in Nigeria now stands at five.
“The other two patients currently under treatment in the isolation wards are stable and are being taken care of.”
She died at 58.
