Hehehe....Sunderland football club in it's bid to stay away from another controversy after the Adam Johnson saga, has moved swiftly to sack Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue after the Ivorien was slapped with a one year football ban by FIFA for refusing to pay his agent.The former Arsenal defender, aged 32, signed for the Black Cats earlier this month on a short-term deal until the end of the season.But that contract has now been torn up after it emerged that the former Ivory Coast international will not be available to feature. Eboue has been banned by FIFA for 12 months for failing to pay his former agent.He can return to action sooner than that if he pays an amount owed to his former agent Sébastien Boisseau. Eboue was initially ordered to pay the money in July 2013 and fined for failing to comply with the judgement in September 2014.He subsequently appealed against the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but his appeal was dismissed. A statement released by Sunderland confirmed the players had two weeks in which to appeal against their decision to sack him.

Addressing journalists in Arochukwu, Abia State, Akpabio said the country’s current economic challenge was a global phenomenon orchestrated by the steady fall in oil prices. Akpabio who advocated for diversification of the economy said the global economic meltdown is being felt more by Nigerians because the country runs a mono-economy built around oil. He enjoined the Federal Government to pay attention to other sector of the economy like mining, agricultural and entrepreneurship ventures and as well as foreign direct investment to boost the country’s revenue base .Akpabio said, “So, what has happened here is that with the massive failure, what we call oil glut in the market, the oil price has reduced below what we expected in the last 20 years. That automatically has affected our economy.“It has nothing to do with which administration is in power. It has something to do with resources to be able to deliver the dividend of democracy.”The former Governor while admitting the effect of the harsh economy on the citizenry sued for patience from Nigerians and solicited support for the present administration in the interest of the country.“The country belongs to all of us and if the country collapses on our heads, it means that we bequeath nothing to our children,” he said.

Chei....A Senior Nigerian Army Officer, Col. Samaila Inusa, who was reportedly abducted at gunpoint at  the Refinery Junction in Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State was  found dead on Tuesday.

The Nigerian Army authority told newsmen in a statement that Inusa’s body was found in Kaduna. He was suspected that he was killed the same day he was abducted.
