BIG SHAME......National Theatre in total darkness over unpaid N9m debt

hehehehe.....The Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EKEDC) on Sunday said that electricity supply to the National Arts Theatre in Lagos was disconnected because its management failed to pay over N9 million debt.
Mr Idemudia Godwin, General Manger, Media Communications of EKEDC, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the complex was disconnected after several appeals and demand notices went unheeded.

According to him, the debt is an accumulation of unpaid bills over time.

Budget padding: DSS, Police get Buhari’s nod on probes

hehehe.....There are strong indications that the police and Department of State Services have received the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari, to carry out full investigations into the N480bn budget padding in the House of Representatives.

We gathered on Saturday that the security agencies had already swung into action by scrutinising documents collected from a former Chairman of the House of Representatives Appropriation Committee,  Abdulmumin Jibrin, as part of the investigations into the  budget padding.

Investigations showed that Buhari, as part of his commitment to the anti-graft war was  favourably disposed to investigations into the allegations in spite of his closeness to the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara.

Eldest son of the first military governor of the former Western region, Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, Femi, said he had forgiven those who participated in the assassination of the father on July 29, 1966.

Fajuyi spoke at an event organised by the League of Veteran Journalists, Oyo State chapter, to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of his father in Ibadan, during a counter coup. He was killed alongside his visitor, General Agunyi Ironsi, who was the then military head of state.

Fajuyi said the golden anniversary of his father’s death had eased the pain and the memories of the loss, adding that the family had moved on and forgiven his father’s killers. He said he was still waiting for a forum where he would meet and embrace Gen. Theophilus  Danjuma, whom he described as a major player in the coup.

13 inmates escape following jailbreak at Kogi prison

hehehe.....Thirteen inmates escaped in fresh jailbreak recorded at Koton Karfe prison in Kogi in the early hours of Saturday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learned that the incident happened at about 7a.m. when the inmates forcefully brought down the wall of the prison.
