Hehehe...Stop attacking Jonathan, your government was far more corrupt – Fayose tells Obasanjo

image
The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his continuous verbal attacks on President Jonathan’s administration over corruption and insecurity.
Speaking at a summit in Ife, Fayose said that Obasanjo had no moral justification to criticise Jonathan’s administration because the former President’s government was far more corrupt than that of Jonathan.
The attack from Fayose came just as notable leaders of the Yoruba race present at the summit endorsed Jonathan for a second term in office.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, led notable traditional rulers from many Yoruba towns, majority of who are from Ekiti State to the summit.
The matriarch of Awolowo family, Chief H.I.D Awolowo, represented at the summit by her daughter, Mrs. Tola Oyediran. Fayose, who spoke after all the Yoruba leaders had spoken, stated that he would not toe the line of Yoruba leaders who spoke before him.
He said, “I will differ a bit, we need to hit the nail on the head. We are dealing with monsters and we need to treat them as monsters. My name is Ayodele Fayose, the Oshokomole, ‘irunmole to n je jollof rice’.”
Apparently asking Jonathan not to lobby Obasanjo for support, Fayose said, “Even if you give your blood, your being, your strength and your life to Obasanjo, he would not support you.
“We know him more than you know him. He will not want a man with independent mind.
“Mr. President, you have refused to toe the path of unconstitutionality. You have refused to level Borno and other states like he levelled Odi in Bayelsa State.
“You are taking your time to respect human rights by not committing crime against humanity, he won’t like that.
“Your Excellency, the more you try to curry Obasanjo’s favour, the more he would continue to disparage you. If you continue to curry his favour, we are not going to curry him. He doesn’t like people that give him respect.
“Your Excellency, your second term has been concluded in heaven. Fear not! Obasanjo accused government of the day of corruption, but what happened to the N50m he shared to each senator and House of Representatives member during his third term agenda that failed?

“What do you call the donations to Obasanjo Library? That is corruption. Go and check the code of conduct, the form filled by Obasanjo,” he added.

Jonathan has failed this country – Oshiomole

image
Do you believe him....hehehehe.....The Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has resumed his verbal attack on President Goodluck Jonathan’s government.
The ex labour leader claimed that the pains the country is going through currently was as a result of Jonathan’s harsh economic policy.
The governor called on Nigerians to deploy their permanent voters card issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as strong weapon to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
Oshiomole who spoke at the occasion of the formal defection of a former Minister, Ogiewonyi and about 2,500 others to the APC, called on electorate to get ready to bring Jonathan down from power with their votes.
Also speaking at the event, Ogiewonyi said 15 years of uninterrupted PDP national administration has woefully failed the nation.
His words, “when I pitched my tent with the PDP some years ago, I was with the genuine expectation that it was a platform that will truly enable me continue my service to humanity and that it will truly return power to the people as the power depicts.
“However, PDP has continued to impoverish our people. The PDP has continued to lead us to perdition and the unreformed, anti-people and undemocratic Peoples Democratic Party has set us on the path of retrogression.
“15 years of uninterrupted PDP national administration has woefully failed to approximate the expectations, dreams and yearnings of Nigerians. After very deep retrospection and wide consultation, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that I must join hands with the purposeful leadership of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to help consolidate in the monumental transformation in all spheres being witnessed in Edo State,” he added.

Ali said: “After going through 90 minutes that the screening exercise lasted, he came to the conclusion that he wanted to withdraw from the race.

He loses life battle to cancer....RIP

Yomi Peters
RIP brother....Former international Yomi Peters died on wednesday after a short battle with gastric cancer.
The 74-year-old former Stationery Stores player and coach gave up the ghost at the General Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
“He died at 9.20am and his body has been deposited in the mortuary,” Peters’ wife, Toyin told our correspondent on Wednesday morning.
Peters was earlier diagnosed of gastric tumour but after series of tests, it was discovered that he had gastric cancer.
Peters initially had problems settling his bill at the General Hospital, until the Lagos State Government came to his rescue, with a promise to pay the bills incurred by the ex-Stores forward.
Ex-internationals had complained about the poor treatment of Peters, while in his ward at the hospital.
“How can you keep him in an ordinary room with three other heroes? He should have been kept alone in a separate room because he is a hero. If it was a politician who was in his (Peters) situation, he would have been flown abroad for treatment. But they don’t build hospitals; even the ones we have are poorly equipped,” ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper, Segun Oguns, said.
“It’s sad to lose a hero like him. Its painful for a great player in Lagos to die the way he did. Now what they are talking about is paying his bills but he is dead. If he was flown abroad, he probably would have lived another three years. If we had an effective players union, things like this won’t happen,” 1984 Africa Cup of Nations silver medallist, Clement Temile, said.
Peters played for NIgeria and Stores in the 1970s and became a household name in Lagos for his striking abilities and leadership qualities with the Adebajo Babes.
He was feared for his aerial prowess and as a coach, helped Stores reach the final of the Africa Cup Winners Cup in the early 1980s.

Did you know that House Committee members walk out on IGP after he refers to the Speaker as 'one Alhaji Tambuwal"

Drama everywhere..hehehe...House Committee Members recently walked out on the Inspector general of police, Sulaiman Abba, after he refused to address Speaker Aminu Tambuwal properly when he appeared before the House of Representatives Police Committee  after several days of ignoring their invitation
According to Sahara Reporters; while trying to explain why his men invaded the National Assembly last week, the IGP said 'they had credible intelligence that some thugs had planned on causing mayhem at the resumed sitting of the house."
Now here's where it gets interesting...hehehehe... The IGP said 'one Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal led a group of thugs to overpower the security at the first gate. A move he claimed led the police to lock down the second gate and fire a canister of teargas.

His reference to the “Speaker of the House as “one Alhaji Tambuwal” made the committee members mad. ..hehehehe

They asked the IGP to properly address the speaker of the house according to protocol but Mr Abba said the case of the speaker was in court and as such he wouldn’t like to comment further on it.

The committee member refused to proceed with the hearing until the IGP properly addressed the speaker. They said as long as he refuses to do so,  they too would no longer recognize him as IG. They argued back and forth and the members walked out on the IGP. wahala dey this country ooooo....

It’s not right to call Tambuwal speaker –IG

Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, was adamant on Wednesday, refusing to recognise the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, as the speaker.
The IG simply addressed him as “Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal”, a title that angered members of the House Committee on Police Affairs.
Abba insisted that it would be “subjudice” for him to address Tambuwal as speaker or any matter relating to him so long as such a matter was in court.
Chairman of the House committee, Mr. Usman Bello-Kurmo, asked him a direct question, “Is Aminu Waziri-Tambuwal the Speaker of the House of Representatives or not?”
The IG replied, “Mr. Chairman, you know that matters before the courts are subjudice.
“Commenting on them is subjudice until they are disposed of.”
The response brought the session between Abba and the committee to an abrupt end, as the two parties stormed out of the venue.
The committee, acting on a House resolution, had summoned Abba to explain why the police shut the gates of the National Assembly against lawmakers on Thursday last week.
During the closure, Tambuwal and many lawmakers were disallowed entry by the police, resulting in violent reactions by the members.
In the process, many of them scaled the gates to enter the premises and later forcibly took the Speaker into the House.
Riot policemen reacted by throwing tear gas canisters at Tambuwal and the enraged members.
As the Wednesday’s meeting was about to start, Bello-Kurmo called for maturity, saying that the interest of the country must prevail at all times.
However, speaking on what transpired last week, the IG justified the police action.
He maintained that all those the police restrained from entering the National Assembly were “thugs.”
Rather than admitting that his men threw tear gas canisters at lawmakers, he claimed that “a tear gas canister exploded.”
Abba also told lawmakers to their faces that it was his men who suffered physical assault and not the lawmakers.
He said, “The police management and particularly my own person, I was traumatised by what I saw happened to police officers that day.
“What happened was unprecedented worldwide; policemen were physically beaten and disobeyed, among other things that happened.”
He claimed that the police shut the National Assembly for security reasons after the Force Headquarters received intelligence that Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and All Progressives Congress supporters were going to attack the legislature and other public offices on November 20.
According to him, a day earlier on the 19th, the “leadership” of the APC, Amaechi and party members had blocked the Force Headquarters in Abuja, “where they made uncomplimentary statements and threatened to do worse (things) in the days ahead.”
Among the places he claimed would have been attacked by the APC members and Amaechi were the Presidential Villa and the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He added that his men merely asked for identification from lawmakers and that they allowed those who complied into the premises.
The IG stated that, bearing in mind that the parliament in Burkina Faso suffered a similar attack recently, he ordered the massive security beef-up to safeguard the National Assembly.
He added, “The procedure was orderly until the arrival of Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal and his men with quite a number of suspected thugs to disrupt the security arrangements.
“Unfortunately, a tear gas canister exploded at the gate; the situation is unfortunate and it is being investigated.”
He also claimed to have briefed the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms to the National Assembly and “some members of staff of principal officers” on the police action a day earlier.
Abba was very careful throughout his speech, avoiding the use of the word “speaker” when referring to Tambuwal.
Members were already boiling with anger over the IG’s attitude and could barely wait for him to round off before they berated him for “disrespecting” the Speaker.
Two members of the committtee, Hakeem Munir and Victor Nwokolo, asked him to retract his earlier comment and address Tambuwal with his official title, but Abba refused.
With members threatening to walk out of the meeting if Abba would not recognise Tambuwal as the Speaker, Bello-Kurmo called off the session abruptly.
The committee resolved that the discussions could no longer hold since the IG would not accord Tambuwal his respect.
Lawmakers stormed out of the venue angrily, stopping Bello-Kurmo from shaking hands with Abba or making efforts to see him off to the door.
