Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Ondo State Chapter, has said that the Association was waiting for the Federal Government to recall its sacked resident doctors.
The Association Chairman, Dr Betiku Bamidele made the disclosure today in Akure while speaking with reporters.
According to him, “We all know that the strike has been suspended and this means that it is temporary because certain things have been put in place to observe what happens in the next couple of days or weeks.
“Federal Government has promised that once NMA calls off the strike, it would reverse its suspension decision and we are waiting earnestly for that”.
Bamidele noted that Nigerians were supposed to have a good trust in the words of their leaders, adding that NMA was known for its nobility and honour and would always keep to its words.
“We should hold our leaders responsible to their words and there is no reason for reneging on it.
“The ball is in the court of government and we are only hoping that government will stand on its words.
” As far as we are concerned, we have resumed and not reneged on our promise because we are people of honour.
