Falconets arrive in Abuja after U-20 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria National Women U20 team, on Tuesday morning arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Falconets lost 1-0 to Germany in the final of the U20 World Cup competition, clinching second place after their three week long effort in Canada.
The players were received at the Airport by the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Gbenga Elegbeleye and were addressed by the Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagog at the Abuja National Stadium.
The Minister congratulated them for doing the country proud, despite not winning the tournament. He said they performed above expectations by getting to the finals.
Falconets’ Head coach, Peter Dedevbo said they all arrived safely alongside the players and officials, apart from US-based forward- Courtney Dike.
He further disclosed that the reception scheduled with President Goodluck Jonathan has been postponed to a later date
