United smash British transfer record with £60m Di María deal

Manchester United have agreed a £59.7m deal – a new British transfer record – with Real Madrid for the services of Angel Di Maria.
The move is expected to be made official on Tuesday, after the Argentina international flew into Manchester to finalize his £125,000-a-week contract with the Red Devils.
Di Maria’s arrival takes United’s summer spending to £130.7m, after Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw all arrived earlier. Louis van Gaal is however understood to be keen on adding any of Arturo Vidal, Nigel de Jong and Daley Blind, before the window closes next week.

Negotiations for Di Maria moved fast over the weekend and his transfer is expected to be completed in time for him to make his debut against Burnley on Saturday.
