NMA President's Resignation Rejected by the NMA, NOC











The resignation of the National president of the NMA has been rejected by the NMA, NOC. This was contained in the resolutions reached at the end of a meeting between the Chairman of the Medical and dental council of Nigeria (MDCN), Members of the NMA, NOC held on 8th of august 2014 at the MDCN Secretariat in Abuja.

The NMA, NOC rejected the resignation of the NMA president Dr Kayode Obembe. 
On its official twitter Handle, the NMA twitted "in the wake of incessant controversial reports flying around on the purported resignation of the NMA President and suspensio of #NMAStrike, We wish to state unequivocally that the said letter has since been WITHDRAWN and the substantive president of NMA is still Dr Kayode Obembe

It also resoved that there is need to suspend the strike action predicated by the federal governments Payment of the two months amended CONMESS Salary Arrears as Soon as Possible. The NMA added that its also apt to state that the ongoing industrial action by Nigerian doctors has NOT been called off. Not until the FG heeds our Demands.

According to the NMA twitter handle, consultations are still ongoing and we shall update you with progress reports.
