Van Persie set to undergo knee operation

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is set to undergo a knee operation.
The Dutchman was originally scheduled to undergo the procedure before the World Cup, but Louis van Gaal persuaded him to delay the operation and play in Brazil.
Van Persie suffered the ligament damage to his left knee, when United beat Olympiakos 3-0 in the Champions League in February and was scheduled to go under the knife much earlier.

United have already agreed a loan deal for Radamel Falcao, a move which might ease any lengthy absence.
