These men nor dey tire sef.......In anticipation to the 2015 general election, Senate President David Mark has urged his constituents to remain dedicated to the activities of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mark also gave the assurance that he would declare his political aspiration in due time.
Mark while addressing Youth leaders from Ado Local Government Area in his Otukpo country home, Benue State, yesterday said he was yet to declare his intention but would make his decision known after due consultation with various stakeholders in accordance with the PDP guideline.
The Youth leaders had visited Mark yesterday, asking him to contest the Benue South Senatorial seat in 2015 because, as far as they were concerned, he remained the choice of the Idoma nation for the seat.
However, the Senate President told his people thus: “I appreciate your interest in me, but I have not declared my interest or intention to contest yet. I will make my intention known to you when the time comes.
In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, he said; “I assure you that whatever decision I take will be in the overall interest of the Idoma people. I have nothing personal, but anything that will make our society better and ultimately promote the security and well-being of all will be my mission and purpose.”
He also assured that the agitation for the new Apa state was still on, saying that, “God’s willing , I will pursue the creation of Apa State from the present Benue State to a logical conclusion.”
The Youth leader, Ogenyi Ocheme, praised the Senate President for attracting development to the Idoma nation.
“It may not be your intention to contest this election but the desire of every reasonable Idoma man and woman is that you return to the Senate in 2015,” Ocheme said
