Manchester United have quickly moved to secure the signing of Radamel Falcao, on a season-long loan from Monaco.
The Colombia international missed the 2014 World Cup, because of a cruciate ligament injury and has been made available on a loan or permanent deal by the Ligue 1 side.
Falcao appeared to be heading to either Real Madrid or Manchester City, but United have reportedly beaten off competition to land the striker.
United will pay as much as £20m for a season for the 28-year-old and he is expected to complete the move after a medical today.
