The Falconets on Wednesday, defeated England 2-1 at the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, to qualify as group winners.
Loveth Ayila and Asisat Oshoala scored, as the Nigerians recovered from conceding a very early goal, to win the match.
Nikita Parris gave England the lead in the fifth minute, but Ayila levelled the scored in the 41st minute, producing a fine piece of skill before firing in from 25 yards.
14 minutes into the second half, Oshoala was brought down in the area and the referee pointed to the spot without hesitation. She stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
