PDP crises: Sheriff gives condition for peace........HEHEHEHE

okoooo...Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has failed to broker peace between Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and the National Caretaker committee chairman of the party. Ali Modu-Sheriff, who met with the caretaker committee, also insisted that the new convention which he is proposing must be held in Abuja and the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike should not head the convention committee.

According to Vanguard, Sheriff also insisted that the ward, local government and state congresses already concluded and approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) must stand.
At a joint press briefing with the reconciliation committee chairman, Professor Jerry Gana at the end of the meeting, Sheriff said the committee had taken serious note of analysis of problems causing disaffection within the party.
“We are delighted that there have been a clear resolution on the determination and the desire that the problems been resolved, unity be re -established and for PDP to move forward.
‎”Nigerians are waiting for PDP; they are missing the PDP, they are crying and yearning for PDP because the 16 years of democracy cannot be wasted away.”
Other reconciliation committee members present at the meeting were former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, his Enugu State counterpart, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, Senate Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Abodu Olujimi‎, former Senator Whip, Senator Stella Omu, former Minister of Aviation, Ambassador Fidelia Njeze, former Minister of Woman Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, AVM Dan Suleiman (rtd) among others.
On Sheriff’s side were former PDP Vice Chairman (South-South), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, Senator Hope Uzodinma, former presidential Political Adviser Alhaji Ahmed Gulak,‎ among others.

Ali-Modu-Sheriff
Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman, Rivers State Adhoc Ward/National Delegate Congress, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, on Wednesday insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, August 17 National Congress, slated for Port Harcourt, Rivers State will hold as scheduled. Speaking with journalist in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ihedioha decribed the embattled National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff as an “interloper” who is out to distract the party.
He said, “We will be focused and confident that the National Convention of the PDP will hold. Everybody is on speed gear. We cannot be distracted by agents that are against the ideals of our party.
“Sheriff is an interloper. No one has the authority to say that he has cancelled or suspended the convention. Decisions were taken at a National Convention that was held in Port Harcourt. The party constitution is supreme.”
The opposition party has been engrossed in leadership controversy since its May 21 national convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State which produced the Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee.
Recall that Justice Okon Abang of an Abuja Federal High Court had recently sacked the Makarfi’s led committee, while upholding Sheriff’s candidacy as the national leader of the party, saying it was illegally constituted.
Justice Abang had ruled that the Makarfi-led committee was illegally constituted, thereby lacked the powers to conduct any function on behalf of the party.
Justice Abang had also barred the Caretaker committee from conducting a fresh National Convention because it.
However, the Makarfi-led faction of the party has continued to maintain that the convention will hold as slated despite the court ruling.
