WETIN DEY HAPPEN FOR ONDO STATE SEF......SEE


A former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, yesterday, emerged governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
840 delegates from 203 wards in the state participated in the primary election.
At the party’s primary election held in Akure, Jegede pulled 760 votes to defeat another aspirant, Mr Saka Lawal, who scored 22 votes.


Yesterday’s election was conducted by the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson who served as Chairman of the electoral committee.
He was accompanied by two senators, Meredith Chuba Okadigbo and Saabi Yau.
The primary was observed by INEC officials led by the state administrative secretary, Kabir Omosanya, security personnels, local and international observers.
Jegede, who promised to revamp the state’s economy, pledged to serve, unite the warring factions within the party and build bridges of friendship
Chairman of the electoral committee, governor Dickson who lauded the party members for the free, fair and transparent election said that Jegede’s victory was that of the party and people of the state.
In his remarks, Dickson noted that the crisis in the PDP at the national level was a passing phase that would soon be resolved.
On his part, Governor Olusegun Mimiko said that the successful conduct of the governorship primary in the state was “a road to victory in the November 26 election.”
Agunloye becomes SDP candidate
Meanwhile, former Minister of power and Steel, Dr Olu Agunloye has emerged the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Dr Agunloye, the sole aspirant in the party’s primary election, held in Akure, Ondo State capital, was unanimously elected as the party candidate after polling 277 out of the 279 votes cast.
Dr Agunloye in his acceptance speech, pledged to use his experience and expertise to rebuild and reposition the state.


Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko on Monday congratulated his former Attorney General and Justice Commissioner, Eyitayo Jegede on his emergence as the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in a hitch-free primary election conducted in the state by the party.
