#BREAKING: A tragic incident has been reported in Bayelsa State, where a medical doctor, Dr. Ere Siana Sintei Ogbachi, died shortly after delivering a set of triplets.
According to reports, the doctor successfully gave birth to the three babies at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Okolobiri.
However, complications reportedly set in shortly after the delivery, prompting her emergency transfer to the Intensive Care Unit of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa.
Family sources confirmed that despite efforts by medical personnel to stabilise her condition, she passed away in the early hours of April 14, 2026, at about 2:45 a.m
The deceased was said to be a registrar at NDUTH, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, and a graduate of the Niger Delta University.
Her death has sparked widespread grief among colleagues, family members, and the medical community, especially given that the triplets were delivered successfully before the fatal complications occurred.
