The State Government says it is committed to improving the lives of Deltans and residents of the State by providing the needed infrastructure to better their living conditions.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Kingsley Emu made this known when he inaugurated members of the State Energizing, Health Education, Agriculture Rural Communities and Transportation (e-HEART) Project Steering Committee by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in his office.
Dr. Emu stated that the the REA is looking to undertake off-grid
renewable green energy based solutions to argument the energy shortage being experienced in the country.
He disclosed that the Project is World Bank funded and also that the State was one of the few States chosen as a pilot scheme with the primary focus on primary health care facilities in the State with the view to enhance efficiency and service delivery in the health sector.
Dr. Emu charged the members to be up and doing to ensure they deliver on the Committee's mandate.
Those inaugurated into the E-HEART Project Steering Committee are the Commissioner for Energy, who will serve as Chairman, Commissioners for Health, Education, Agriculture, Transport and Rural Infrastructure as members.
Other members are the State Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON), and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, will serve as Secretary.
