Frank Lampard
At the end of 90 minutes on Sunday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was elated as his players tactically beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard, in his line-up, stuck to young Nigerian- British striker Tammy Abraham, following the teenager's fantastic performance last week, and the striker with parents from Delta state truly faltered in front of goal before Liverpool's Alexander Arnold opened the scoring after a wonderful free kick that left Chelsea's keeper Kepa, bamboozled

Lampard tried to positionally tweak his attacking line-up by telling Abraham to stick to by-line and cut off the off side trap but Liverpool caught Chelsea off guard again as Firmino lept up to head home from the 18 yard box.

Chelsea were not short of attempts though as referee Michael Oliver, eventually, ruled out an effort by Azpilicueta following a VAR check.

Alonso a first-half substitute for Emerson, found it hard making in-runs through Arnold, and Christensen had to be replaced with Zouma who started the season poorly for Chelsea.

Lampard hit the ground in disbelief after Christensen gave a pass between the Liverpool defenders Van Dijk and and Joel Matip, Tammy Abraham ran onto the ball but his shot was saved by Adrian with his legs with, on the touchline.

In the second half, Kante, paralysed by his team's poor forays in midfield, strayed through the Liverpool defence and curled the ball into the top corner leaving Klopp frustrated with his defensive line. With the score at 1-2, Chelsea tried and tried to creae ourt meaninful clear cut chances, but a resolute Liverpool defence, held out.

Final score.. Chelsea 1- 2 Liverpool. .. Liverpool still remain the only club to yet to drop points in the premier league this season.

Liverpool may have lost control, but didn’t lose the lead.
