The Delta State Police Command on Sunday in Asaba, confirmed the arrest of a 62-year-old native doctor identified as Chief Benjamin Nkor and two others for the alleged ritual murder of a 300-level student of the Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) Miss Elozino Ogege few days ago.
CP Mustafa Muhammad said, “Gentlemen of the press, the suspects, particularly the native doctor said he specializes in using human parts for money rituals, especially for those who want to get rich quickly,” adding that the suspects were being held for further investigation as they will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
While narrating how the victim was lured into the trap by security guard, CP Mustafa Muhammad said, “The suspects have made useful statements to the police, the police recovered the handset of the victim and investigation is on going with a view to arresting more suspects.”
The police boss, however, called on members of the public to be security conscious and know what their neighbours do for a living and assured Deltans that the command was on top of the matter as the police will leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits to book.
Senebi, while briefing newsmen in Asaba on Sunday on the steps taken by the state government, disclosed that the state government had thrown her weight behind the security agents with a view to arresting those concerned in the murder, adding” the state government, however, Sympathizer with the family of the victim and the vice Chancellor of the university, professor Victor Peretemode, the state government therefore assures that necessary steps will be taken to ensure justice in the matter”
Senebi appealed to parents to always monitor their children and wards against secret moves especially late night movements to avoid urgly incidences.
