The police arrested a Nigerian after heroin was recovered from his possession in Samrala, Khanna, India, on Tuesday October 30th.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said, “At a check-point near Bardhalan police post, a bus coming from Khanna side was signalled to stop. During checking, a man alighted from the bus and started walking towards Samrala.”
The police party intercepted the man, who identified himself as John Okichu, a native of Ihiara, in Anambra State and resident of Chandan Vihar, Delhi. During frisking, 900 grams of heroin was found on him.
“Okichu had come to India on a six-month visa, but overstayed for one-and-a-half years. It seems he came here to supply the consignment. He has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,” said a cop.
