36 Lagos lawmakers unanimously adopt Sanwo-Olu as APC governorship flagbearer

As the debate continues on who would become the APC governorship flagbearer in Lagos state continues, members of the State House of Assembly, have unanimously thrown their weight behind Babajide Sanwo-olu, one of the contenders for the ticket and the person rumored to have received the endorsement of the APC National leader, Bola Tinubu.

Chairman of the state House Assembly Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, made this known in a statement released yesterday Saturday September 29th. According to the statement, the decision was taken at a Parliamentary meeting of the lawmakers which took place at Lateef Jakande auditorium of the House. At the meeting which was presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, 36 out of the 40 lawmakers were present and they unanimously endorsed the decision and duly signed the statement announcing the decision.

The statement reads

“At the Parliamentary meeting held on 29th September, 2018 at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex, members do hereby unanimously resolve to support the position of the Leadership of All Progressive Congress(APC) and the Governor’s Advisory Council(GAC) in Lagos State on the endorsement of Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu as the APC Gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 election. The meeting was attended by 36 out of the 40 Honourable members in the House of Assembly.”.
