Update: One pilot dies in NAF aircraft crash in FCT
The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) says one of the pilots who was successfully ejected from one of the F-7Ni aircraft that crashed in the FCT earlier today, has died.


The Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, announced the death of the pilot in a statement released this afternoon.
“It is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce that one of the pilots who successfully ejected from one of the F-7Ni aircraft that crashed earlier today has passed on. May his soul rest in peace. Additional details on the incident will be communicated, ”Daramola said.

Recall that two NAF aircraft collided and crashed while rehearsing in Abuja for the Independence day celebration.
Two of the Nigeria Air Force aircrafts practicing for the Independence day anniversary in Abuja slated for Monday, October 1st, collided and crashed this morning.
Although details of the crash are still sketchy but according to some residents, the incident occured reportedly occurred around Tipper Garage area along Kubwa-AYA expressway at about 10:45am.
Confirming the incident, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said no lives were lost in the mishap.
“I wish to confirm an air incident involving two NAF aircraft taking part in the 58th Independence Day celebrations. Thankfully, no lives were lost,” he said.
