KUDOS TO DR JOSEPH ONOJAEME ....Delta Inaugurates Digital Health Technical/Stakeholders Committee

 





Dr Joseph Iyasele Okwuolisa who is NAGGMDP Chairman, Delta state is also the  state digital in health focal person.

In a bid to improve service delivery and ensure seamless integration of health services into the national digital health framework, the Delta State Government has inaugurated the State Digital Health Technical/Stakeholders Committee. The inauguration took place in Asaba, marking a significant step toward strengthening healthcare delivery through technology.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, who represented the Governor, described digital health as a critical component of modern healthcare systems. He noted that the initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of adopting innovative, technology-driven solutions to enhance efficiency, accountability, and access to quality healthcare services across Delta State.

Dr. Emu emphasized that digital health would improve patient outcomes, reduce inefficiencies, and support evidence-based decision-making. He charged members of the committee to work collaboratively, leveraging their diverse expertise to ensure effective implementation of digital health policies and projects that meet global best practices while addressing local needs.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, highlighted the importance of coordinated stakeholder engagement in achieving sustainable digital health outcomes. He explained that the committee would play a vital role in guiding the state’s digital health roadmap, ensuring interoperability of systems, data security, and the strengthening of health information management systems.

Other stakeholders at the event underscored the need for capacity building, adequate funding, and continuous monitoring to ensure the successful rollout of digital health initiatives. They noted that effective digital transformation would enhance service delivery, especially at the primary healthcare level, and support universal health coverage.

The inauguration of the committee signals Delta State’s commitment to aligning with national and global digital health standards, fostering innovation, and improving healthcare outcomes for its citizens.
