Angry youths have have stormed the Plateau State House of Assembly with truckload of dead bodies from last night attack in Yelwan Zangam community in Jos North local government area.
The youths are said to have demanded to be addressed by the Speaker and Members.
Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militiaskilled over 30 persons including children in a midnight raid.
The attack which started from 8:45 pm Tuesday and lasted till the early hours of Wednesday, August 25.
It was gathered that the attackers had disabled the bridge leading to
the Anaguta community preventing any access to help before launching
their attack.
Angry youths have destroyed a billboard of Governor Lalong, in protest over the killing of 30 persons in Yelwa Zangam village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the youths stormed the Plateau Specialist Hospital where the corpses of victims had been deposited and evacuated them into vans.
They later proceeded with the corpses to the State House of Assembly blocking all roads leading to the area.
Despite the address by the Speaker of the House who pleaded for calm, the youths were not satisfied with the response and proceeded to the Government House where the corpses of the victims were laid.
In the meantime, authorities in Plateau have summoned an emergency Security Council meeting presided by the deputy governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden, to discuss the present situation in the state.
