A Mission of Hope: OMIWA Foundation USA's Historic 2-Day Medical Outreach in Edo State

On the 22nd and 23rd of August, 2026, history was made in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State, as OMIWA Foundation USA, in collaboration with Hon. Osazee Felix Igbinovia, successfully concluded an extraordinary 2-Day Free Medical Outreach that became a beacon of hope for countless individuals and families.
What began as a vision to serve humanity became a remarkable testimony of compassion, sacrifice, and the power of collective purpose.
Two Days That Changed Countless Lives
From the very first hours of Day One until the closing moments of Day Two, the venue was filled with an endless stream of people—young children, pregnant women, fathers, mothers, and elderly citizens—each carrying their own story, their own pain, and their own hope.
They came seeking healing.
They left with renewed strength.
Countless patients were attended to across the two days, receiving quality healthcare completely free of charge. Behind every consultation was a smile restored. Behind every prescription was a family given another chance. Behind every treatment was a reminder that humanity is still alive.
Every Department Worked Without Rest
The outreach was nothing short of a fully operational hospital brought into the heart of the community.
Every department remained busy throughout the programme:
Medical consultations
Laboratory investigations
Blood sugar screening
Blood pressure checks
Eye screening and free eye lens distribution
Dental care
Drug dispensing
Health education and counseling
There was no idle moment.
Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, optometrists, dentists, radiographers, volunteers, and support staff worked tirelessly, united by one purpose—to serve.
A Mobile X-Ray That Made the Difference
One of the most remarkable highlights of the outreach was the deployment of a Mobile X-Ray Unit.
Instead of asking patients to travel long distances or postpone vital investigations because of financial constraints, diagnostic imaging was brought directly to the community.
For many residents, it was their first opportunity to receive an X-ray examination without worrying about cost or accessibility.
This single intervention ensured quicker diagnoses, better clinical decisions, and timely care for patients who desperately needed it.

The outreach was about far more than medicines and medical equipment.
