The funeral of President Buhari’s ally and the influential media leader, Ismaila Isa Funtua, took place in Abuja today July 21, 2020.

According to VanguardNGR, Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua suffered a massive heart-attack during the medical check up.
The founding Managing Director of Democrat Newspaper and former President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), died of cardiac arrest.
In a tweet, Bashir Ahmad, another aide of the president, expressed regrets over the incident

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just heard about Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua’s sudden death. This life! May Allah accept his soul, forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus,” he tweeted.

He was interred at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja. The funeral service was conducted at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Garki, Abuja.
