SEE OMIWA IN OROGUN.....LIVES CHANGING MEDICAL OUTREACH

OROGUN FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH
23RD & 24TH MAY, 2026
UGHELLI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, DELTA STATE

Introduction

On the 23rd and 24th of May, 2026, the peaceful community of Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State witnessed two extraordinary days of compassion, sacrifice, healing, and hope as OMIWA FOUNDATION USA successfully carried out a massive free medical outreach for the people.

What began as a humanitarian mission soon became a life-changing experience for hundreds of individuals and families who had long struggled with limited access to healthcare services.

From the early hours of both days, men, women, children, and the elderly trooped into the outreach venue with expectations, pain, anxiety, and hope in their hearts. Some walked long distances. Some arrived weak and exhausted. Others came carrying years of untreated illnesses and silent suffering.

Yet, amidst all these challenges, one thing became clear:
The people had not lost hope.
They simply needed someone to show up for them.

And OMIWA FOUNDATION USA did.

Medical Services Rendered

Throughout the two-day outreach, comprehensive healthcare services were provided completely free of charge to the community.

The services rendered included:

General Medical Consultation

Blood Pressure Checks

Blood Sugar Screening

Laboratory Investigations

Malaria Testing and Treatment

Eye Checks and Basic Eye Care

Health Education and Counseling

Drug Dispensing and Free Medications

Nutritional Counseling

Preventive Health Education

Referral Services for Critical Cases

The medical team, made up of dedicated doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, and volunteers, worked tirelessly under demanding conditions to ensure that every patient received quality care with dignity and compassion.

By the end of the outreach, over 450 patients had been successfully attended to within the two days.

Health Findings and Community Realities

The outreach also served as a critical window into the health realities of the Orogun community.

Findings revealed a heavy burden of both communicable and non-communicable diseases:

Malaria remained one of the most common illnesses encountered, reaffirming its persistent impact within rural and underserved populations.

A significant number of individuals were newly diagnosed with hypertension, once again emphasizing the dangerous and silent nature of high blood pressure.

Several patients were found to have poorly managed diabetes, many of whom had never undergone proper monitoring or consistent treatment.

Numerous untreated infections, chronic body pains, arthritis, peptic ulcer disease, eye problems, and nutritional deficiencies were also identified during consultations.

Many elderly patients presented with long-standing medical conditions they had silently endured for years due to financial hardship, poor access to healthcare facilities, and lack of awareness.

Sadly, some patients revealed that they had not seen a doctor in several years simply because they could not afford hospital bills.

These observations reveal an emotional and urgent truth:
Many people within our communities continue to live with illnesses that are preventable, treatable, or manageable, yet remain undiagnosed or neglected because quality healthcare is still inaccessible to them.

Human Stories Behind the Numbers

Beyond the statistics were real human stories.

There were elderly women who broke into tears after receiving medications they could not afford for months.

There were fathers who discovered for the very first time that their blood pressure had risen to dangerous levels.

There were mothers who expressed gratitude simply because their children could finally receive proper treatment.

There were patients who arrived hopeless and left smiling.

There were moments of exhaustion among volunteers, yet moments of strength inspired by the resilience of the people.

For many in Orogun, this outreach was not just a medical exercise.
It was a reminder that humanity still exists.
It was proof that somebody still cares.

Public Health Impact

The impact of the outreach extended far beyond consultations and prescriptions.

Immediate health concerns were addressed, bringing relief and renewed hope to hundreds of individuals.

Early detection of chronic illnesses created opportunities for timely intervention and follow-up care.

Health education sessions enlightened community members on the importance of regular medical check-ups, medication adherence, hygiene, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Trust was strengthened between healthcare professionals and the community, proving once again that compassionate healthcare can reach even the most underserved populations.

Most importantly, hope was restored.

Hope to the elderly man battling chronic illness alone.
Hope to the young mother worried about her health.
Hope to the child who finally received treatment.
Hope to an entire community reminded that they are not forgotten.

Appreciation

The success of this outreach would not have been possible without the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment of every volunteer, medical personnel, sponsor, supporter, and community leader who contributed in one way or another.

Special appreciation goes to the leadership and members of OMIWA FOUNDATION USA for their unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and community health development.

To every doctor, nurse, pharmacist, laboratory scientist, counselor, and volunteer who gave their time, strength, and expertise—
your sacrifices brought healing and hope to many lives.

To the Orogun community for their cooperation, hospitality, and trust—
thank you for welcoming us with open hearts.

Conclusion

The Orogun Medical Outreach of May 23rd and 24th, 2026, will remain deeply etched in memory—not merely because of the impressive number of patients attended to, but because of the lives touched and the hope restored.

To successfully attend to over 450 patients within two days is a remarkable testament to dedication, teamwork, compassion, and selfless service.

This outreach reflects the true heartbeat of OMIWA FOUNDATION USA—a foundation committed to reaching the vulnerable, the underserved, and the forgotten.

Beyond the medications dispensed and consultations provided, lives were impacted, burdens were eased, and hope was rekindled.

Yet, the outreach also serves as a reminder that much work still lies ahead.

The healthcare needs within our communities remain enormous.
The healthcare gaps remain real.
And the call to serve humanity remains urgent.

As long as communities continue to struggle with access to quality healthcare, we will continue to rise to the challenge.
As long as there are lives to touch and hope to restore, we will continue to serve with compassion, dignity, and excellence.
