APC the politics of 2023:
Oshiomole has Katsina the Home of the President Muhammadu Buhari. He has Ogun the home of the VP, Prof Yemi Osinbajo. He has Lagos the home of National leader Hammed Tinubu and also has Yobe, the home of Senate president Ahmed Lawal.
Anyway the NEC meeting is on 17th March, 2020
The battle for the soul of APC is one war that is lingering for
a very long time. With 2023 around
the corner a lot of politicians with interest is jostling
to grab the major organ of the party which is the National Working
Committee. Some governors and ministers who are nursing interest
are covertly engaging Oshiomole and by extension Tinubu who is the main
backbone behind Oshiomole in a war of supremacy. So let’s take a look at
a the Governors and ministers engaging in this warfare.
Fayemi
Fayemi
Fayemi is the current governor of ekiti state, and also
the chairman of the Nigerian Governors forum. The next president of
Nigeria is most likely going to be a southerner. Fayemi is one of
those believed to be eyeing the presidential
seat. Since he sees Oshiomole as his perceived enemy, he will stop at
nothing to see the end of the oshiomole’s regime.
Elrufai
El Rufai
Elrufai is the governor of Kaduna state. Recently he
has voiced his opinion on Nigeria’s zoning system and has advocated that
power should return to the south in 2023. Many analyst see this as a
vice presidential ambition. He is believed to eye the number two jobs in
Nigeria. He and Oshiomole are not the best of friends at this time,
and he would love to see the Comrade booted out. How that will
eventually play out is yet to be seen.
Obaseki
Godwin Obaseki Governor of Edo state is in an open battle with
his predecessor, a battle that is taking a new dimension
every single day. He is one those fighting the National
Chairman, he publicly celebrated the suspension of Oshiomole by the
Abuja High Court. The national chairman is opposed to Obaseki’s second
term ambition, that is why they are locking horns for this
long. Obaseki is one those accused of planning to oust the National
Chairman, which many external forces is now taking advantage of. We
are yet to see the end to of this war.
Amaechi
Amaechi
Amaechi is one of the ministers believed to
be fighting Oshiomole. His dissatisfaction with the national chairman
is tied to the crisis that enveloped the All Progressive Congress
in Rivers state where Amaechi and Magnus Abe’s camp were battling for
the control of
the party in Rivers state. Amaechi’s problem is how Oshiomole handled the matter. He believes that
was why the party could not stage a comeback in the last election.
Akeredolu
Akeredolu
Rotimi Akeredolu is the governor of Ondo state. From inception, he and Oshiomole have
not enjoyed a smooth relation. He was not the anointed candidate
of Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and he is one of those
that wants to see the comrade kicked out.
Other Governors who also wants to see the Comrade booted out are;
Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State. Others are former Governors namely; Rochas Okorocha, Ibikunle Amosun, Abdulaziz Yari
of Imo, Ogun and Zamfara state respectively.
The names above are individuals with a large following, their
coming together is a bad Omen to Oshiomole, although they all want him
out for different reasons, they all have one thing in common
which is to see that Oshiomole is removed.
