A police dog known as Stryker has helped the Lewisville, Texas police department record it's largest drug bust after the dog helped sniff out drugs worth an estimated  $1.2 million in street value.


According to the Lewisville Police Department, Stryker was called into action after police officers saw a suspicious tractor trailer parked near a major highway in Lewisville, Texas last week.

The officer in charge deployed his K-9 partner Stryker to conduct a free air sniff of the tractor trailer and Stryker alerted the police to the presence of methamphetamine hidden in a compartment of the tractor trailer worth over a million dollars. The dog was rewarded with 'it's favorite meal and it's favorite toy' according to the police department.

Posting on it's Facebook page, the police department wrote;
'The Lewisville Police Department seized more than 270 kilograms (approximately 595 pounds) of methamphetamine in one of the largest drug busts in the department’s history. It is also the largest drug bust in the career of K-9 Stryker.

'At approximately 3 p.m. on February 23, 2020 Lewisville Police Department K-9 Officer Pat Robey received a call to assist another agency with an anonymous tip about a suspicious tractor trailer located near a major highway. Officer Robey deployed his K-9 partner Stryker to conduct a free air sniff of the tractor trailer and K-9 Stryker alerted to the presence of narcotics.'
'Officer Robey offered the Lewisville Police Department as a safe location to continue the search of the tractor trailer. Officer Robey assisted in the search and officers located the methamphetamine in a hidden compartment. '

'The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is more than $1.2 million.'
