Friends and family members are mourning the untimely
death of 37-year-old councilor representing Ado Ward 9 at Ado Local
Government Council, Deji Akeredolu.
Late Hon. Akeredolu was killed by unknown gunmen on
Friday December 28th. According to reports, Akeredolu and his wife were
said to have alighted from a motorbike at the junction to their house at
about 10pm when the gunmen struck and fired shots at him from the back.
"So sad you gone so soon my padi of life Deji
Akeredolu...I can't just stop shedding the tears... May allah grant you
access to the shades of his throne on the day of judgement...RIP my
personal person" one of his friends wrote on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the
Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Hon Deji Ogunsakin has
described the death of Hon Adedeji Akeredolu and other staunch PDP
supporters who lost his lives in the fatal gunshot incident on Friday,
by unknown gunmen at Ado Ekiti, as a sad and irreparable loss.
"I was shocked and greatly saddened by the news of the death of my own ward councilor in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. This is unfortunate and an irreparable loss. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Family of the dead, may God almighty grant them the fortitude to bear the loss."I commiserate with His Excellency the immediate Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and PDP Governorship candidate of Ekiti State in the July 14 2018,Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka, the People's Democratic Party PDP Ekiti State Chapter and the people of the state particularly Ado-Ekiti in Ward 9, our leader in the zone, Hon Azeez AMojeed, H.E Dr Sikiru Tai Lawal, Hon Marchester and others, the state PDP chairman Barr Gboyega Oguntuase. It is my prayer that the souls of the departed rest in peace. I empathize with the members of the PDP Ado Local Government Area at this difficult time."
