Commotion at PDP National Secretariat as Atiku submits nomination form

There was commotion and firing of gunshots at the PDP National Secretariat earlier today as former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar submitted his presidential nomination form.

Officers of the Nigeria police force and some supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clashed at the party headquarters in Abuja.
The protesters besieged the area as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar submitted his expression of interest and nomination form.
The clash resulted in Policemen protecting law firing gunshots into thin air and using teargas canisters to disperse the protesters.
The reason for the breakdown in order remains unknown.
It can be recalled that few days back, Atiku Abubakar couldn’t hold back the tears as he picked up his PDP presidential application form.

He wept at his Presidential Campaign Office shortly after obtaining his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Abuja.
The Atiku Support Groups (ASG) bought the forms, a total of N12 million, and presented them to him at his Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja on Friday, August 31, 2018.
The former vice president was overwhelmed with emotion when a member of the ASG, Adekemi Adesanya, was describing the terrible state of affairs in the country. The reason why he cried remains unknown, but the images has since gone viral.
