Hmmm.............India Police have arrested three Nigerians nationals for
the kidnap of 29-year-old James Grant, also a Nigerian citizen resident
in Mandawali Delhi.
Grant went missing on Thursday and did not respond to the calls made to his phone, his wife, Ruchira Chakravarti.
Chakravarti came to Police Station in Mandawali, East
District and made a complaint, stating that on 23-11-2017 at about 5.30
PM, her husband James left from their home for the purpose of getting
drinking water. However, he did not return home all night and all her
attempts of contacting him had failed as his phone went unanswered.
She was, therefore, relieved to receive a phone call from
her husband’s mobile phone made by some unknown person on
Friday morning.
The caller told her that her husband had been abducted by
them and threatened her to arrange Rs. 25 Lakhs to get him released,
failing which her husband would be killed. She was also threatened not
to approach the Police in any circumstance.
The abductors also contacted her parents with the same threat in West Bengal as she is a permanent resident of West Bengal.
"I was extremely scared and confused and did not know what to do, so I informed my parents," said Chakravarti on Saturday.
"They advised me to approach the cops and let them handle
the situation. They feared that the people who had kidnapped James could
trap me too if I went to deliver the
ransom."
ransom."
Accordingly, Chakravarti contacted the police
around Friday noon. She told them that the caller had directed her to
bring Rs 25 lakh to an abandoned plot in Mandawali after which Grant, a
Nigerian , would be released unharmed.
Omvir Singh, DCP (East), said that Shobhit Saksena, ACP of Mayur Vihar, was chosen to lead the investigations.
The cops asked the woman not to panic but to keep the
channel of communication with the abductors open. Then, as instructed by
police, she reached the designated spot with the money. In the
meanwhile, policemen in plainclothes had already reached the area and
were loitering around.
When Chakravarti approached the trio of kidnappers to hand
over the ransom, the police team jumped into action and nabbed the men,
who attempted vainly to escape. Grant was later found in a dingy room,
where he had been tied to a wooden chair. He had been beaten by his
abductors.

him and his wife to pay the debt and also get extra money from him.
It has also emerged that all the three Nigerians had hit
upon the plan of kidnapping someone and demanding a ransom so that they
could fulfil their American dream and take their families on a vacation
to the US.
It was further revealed that all the three accused persons
do not have any valid Passport/Visa for staying in India. In fact it
