Heaven has been let loose in Nigeria concerning the issue of Biafra. Death and Killings have become a common norm in Nigeria. The indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has raised the alarm over the killing, arrest and detention of its members and their family by men of the Department of State Services, DSS and the Military.
The spokes man of the groups said APC-led government was using its security agencies to unjustly arrest, detain and kill its members for demanding for freedom.
IPOB issued a statement through their publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Powerful and obtained by FIDELIS CHIDI'S BLOG claimed that the DSS has perfected plans at a recent meeting held in Abuja to eliminate every member and their families arrested during and after the Celebration of Biafra Day in memory of the former leader of the defunct Biafra Republic, the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. He said “the killings and abduction of their members and families in Anambra, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Imo and Rivers State was a clear signal that this government wants to wipe them out.”
According to him some of their States officials and their families are missing, some have been killed and some are in underground cell and Military cell being tortured while the women are being raped such as Delta State Coordinator, High Chief Mazi Andrew Ashien who his whereabout is still unknow and his only daughter, Dorcas Ashien (only Surviving Family) who the Military and DSS kidnapped from his house in Asaba on that same day.
“They ransacked his house, molested and rough handled his daughter during the kidnap and took her away according to a neighbour who observed the whole disturbing incident.
It is deeply worrying that this APC Nigeria Government, through her security agencies especially the Millitary and DSS, have renewed their clampdown on innocent family members of IPOB just because we are exercising our God's given right to self determination.
He added that High Chief Mazi Ashien Andrew and his daughter Dorcas Ashien whereabouts still remained unknown to his people and IPOB members.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all his electronic gadgets, cars and properties were either seized or destroyed by the Security Agents who lunched the attack on him around 6pm on the evening of 30th May 2016 in his house in Asaba Delta State,” he alleged.
He also claimed knowledge of a recent anti-Biafra meeting held in Abuja by officials of the DSS.
“Our intelligence unit has also uncovered meetings held in Abuja by the DSS where they perfected plans to secretly eliminate any IPOB member and their families they lay their hands on.
“We are also aware that our members have been executed in cold blood by this murderous and tyrannical Government of APC led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari through his DSS. They have cleverly devised system of killing any IPOB member arrested on the way before they reach their dungeon”, he alleged.
The IPOB spokesman called on the international community to come to their aide.
“We are calling on the community civilised nations within the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the US Government, European Union, African Union, men and women of good conscience around the world, Russia Government and other relevant Human Rights Organizations around the globe to prevail upon the Nigerian Government and her security agencies especially the DSS to release our members and there families, or charge them to court if they are still alive,” he added.
