UBTH Nurses and Midwives Issues 14 Day Ultimatum

Hehehe....The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives Chapter of the University of Benin Teaching hospital has Issued the Hospital Management a 14 Day ultimatum. You would recall that the Nurses had resumed at their duty post on the 5th of November 2015 at the end of a 3 day warning strike that lasted from the 2nd to the 4th of November 2015. NANNM UBTH had made a 6 point demand which include the employemnt of more nurses, payment of uniform allowance, stagnation of certian cadres of Nurses, Proper placement of Chief Nursing Officers and ADNS, payment of teaching allowance to CONHESS 7 and 8 level Nurses and payment of shift duty allowance for those on maternity leave.A memo signed by the NANNM UBTH Chairman Comrade Owenaze Austin and addressed to the Chief Medical Director reads: "Due to the failureof the management to meet the unions legitimate demands which necessitated the 3 days warning strike, the union hereby serves management a noticeof 14 days ultimatum within which to meet all six points demand or the union will have no other option than to embark on anindefinite strikeIt is worth of note that of all the federal hospital under IPPIS that is affected by majority of these demands, It is only the UBTH NANNM that has burdened itself with righting this injustice.
