In commemoration of World Kidney Day 2026, the Progressive Healthworkers Forum is offering free Arteriovenous (AV) fistula surgeries for selected patients living with Chronic Kidney Disease across the three senatorial districts of Delta State.
This life-saving intervention will take place on 17th and 18th March 2026 at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara. The procedure will help patients who require regular haemodialysis by providing a safer and more reliable access for treatment, reducing the complications and discomfort associated with repeated catheterisation.
The Progressive Healthworkers Forum encourages families, caregivers, and community members who know patients in need of dialysis access to kindly reach out and connect such individuals with the Forum so they may benefit from this compassionate intervention.
The Forum appreciates the continued commitment of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, whose administration has strengthened kidney care services through the provision of dialysis machines across the State. The Forum also acknowledges the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Health for improving access to dialysis through the harmonisation of treatment costs.
Through this initiative, the Progressive Healthworkers Forum hopes to bring relief, dignity, and improved quality of life to patients battling kidney disease in Delta State.
