The police have detained a young man named John Lyon who is suspected of kidnapping and is well known for boasting about his money online.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the culprit who has been terrorizing the state of Bayelsa was apprehended in Abuja.
The source claimed that the culprit was apprehended after an unsuccessful operation.
The kidnapper admitted in a video that he is a member of a kidnapping group, but claimed that he had only abducted two people before being apprehended.
The culprit was overheard pleading for mercy. He said that his wife had just put the kids to bed and urged his arresting officers to exercise some kindness. Watch him.
