PR expert, Sam Olatunji a.k.a BigSam has reacted to actress Charity Nnaji saying ‘being a female celebrity in Nigeria is more like advanced prostitution'.
Sam countered the claim, saying it is an uncharitable thing to say and also far from the truth. Listing achievements of some female Nigerian celebrities, the PR expert wondered how one will 'own such idiotic statement with a Laburu full chest'.
According to him, people who make such comments demonstrate clear evidence of brain without the ability to think. He stressed that women are doing well and it is also possible for the up and coming ones to do better without turning to prostitution.
Sam further asked women not to listen to "uncharitable Charity" as she doesn't know what she's saying.
He wrote;
I just read this post from a certain lady named Charity. To say her post is uncharitable to women is stating the obvious. What is more UNCHARITABLE is the fact that she is a woman ( that I believe ‘cos these days, you never can tell).
How do you say being a female celebrity is more like an advanced prostitution? And you own such idiotic statement with your LABURU full chest? What you are implying is that all these successful female celebrity both in entertainment and outside entertainment are prostitute, got to where they are or are maintaining what they are by prostitution. Nothing could be farther from the truth. People who make such statements demonstrate clearly evidence of brain without ability to think. There was a time someone called me to say Linda Ikeji must be doing fraud or advanced prostitution to make the kind of money she has, that year Linda was charging 50k per post(now it is 150k).
I asked the person to open the blog and we did counting of sponsored post for that day as at 6pm, Linda has done about 20 sponsored posts . That year, Linda was raking in about 2m daily. Before COVID and after, Toyin Abraham was making over 5m monthly. The kind of money she has made since 2017 till now can only be stuff Dreams are made of. About 10 years ago, we struck a major deal for Ini Edo, my first cut in the money was over 1.5m.
Till date, Ini is making legitimate money quietly and in quick succession to have warranted talk that she’s the richest actress in Nigeria. About two or three years ago Funke Akindele Bello made over 1m USD from just one of her projects, recently Damilare Kuku walked into a corporate organization and got them to part with 10million Naira for a project.
A year ago Lizzy Jay signed a 12 million Naira project and that is aside the regular advert she does for several clients. In the last one year, Yvonne Jegede has made such incredible money that I’m aware of someone of us now secretly call her dollar woman cause she saves in dollars. First house Uche Jombo built in Lagos were two at a highbrow estate. Chinny Love is making incredible money from films, Wanneka became rich by selling hair.
Some of you don’t want to imagine how much Kemi Adetiba was paid for King Of Boys 2, these are successful female celebrities who would still have more money whether a man is involved or not. IYou don’t want to know how much PR agencies (including ours) pay BellaNaija, LindaIkeji, Gistlover (assuming its own by a woman), Stella Dimoko and these female influencers. Recently a car company open discussion with us on gifting Bianca Ugowanne (an Up and coming actress) a car in exchange for some services (This lady doesn’t know what the CEO looks like) and some of you don’t know the giant strides people like Bolanle Austen Peters, Smart Money-Arese, Toyosi Ogunseye, Jade Osiberu and many other women are taking in this present day Nigeria.
If you see all these women living live and living well, don’t let your limited brain deceive you that they only make it by gracing beds of powerful men (some of these men actually live off them).
Women are doing well and it is possible for the upcoming one to do better without turning to prostitution. Please ladies out there, don’t listen to uncharitable Charity, she doesn’t know what she’s saying.
Bigsam
