Police invite suspended UNILAG lecturer indicted in BBC's sex-for-grades investigation

Police invite suspended UNILAG lecturer indicted in BBC
The Lagos state police command has invited for questioning, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu, a lecturer of European languages at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), who was caught on tape soliciting for sex in the BBC sex-for-grades documentary.

In an interview with Fidelis Chidi Blog, Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, said Igbeneghu has been asked to come to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department
SCID, Yaba for questioning once he concludes his appearance at the University's disciplinary panel.  Bala says Igbeneghu is only being given an opportunity to share his own side of the story.

A letter has been sent to the school's management since he is facing a panel there. Since he is their staff, we extended an invitation to him through the school. So we are expecting him to show up as soon as he finishes facing the panel.
He is to report at the State CID Yaba.  You know it is an allegation and under our laws, we have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. So once there is an allegation against you, you also have the right under the law to come and state your own side of the story'' he said
Bala could not however confirm if the second UNILAG lecturer indicted in the report, Dr Samuel Oladipo, has also been invited.
