BIG CONGRATS............Liberia vs Nigeria: Onyekuru, Simy score as Super Eagles win

Nigeria has defeated Liberia 2-1 in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

The game, played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, was arranged in honour of the country’s president and 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year, George Weah.
Henry Onyekuru, who is currently on Galatasaray, opened scoring for the Super Eagles, firing into the top corner to make it 1-0.
Gernot Rohr’s men extended their lead before half time, with Simeon ‘Simy’ Nwankwo heading in Oghenekaro Etebo’s corner kick.
The hosts pulled one back from the penalty spot in the second, but it did not stop Nigeria from claiming their second win in three days, following their 3-0 win over Seychelles in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last Saturday.

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has rung the chances for the friendly game against Liberia with John Ogu and Henry Onyekuru both in the starting XI.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa starts in goal for the first since November 2017 while Jamilu Collins is given a start on his debut for the Super Eagles.
Kelechi Nwakali also starts in his debut and joins Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo in midfield.
Crotone striker Simy Nwankwo starts upfront.
The game has been billed to celebrate Liberian president George Weah who is also a former footballer. Weah is formally resting his No. 14 jersey from the national team.
The Liberian president will play at some part in the friendly game.
