37 corps members who just left their orientation camp in Ogun State, were involved in an accident today while on their way to Sango Otta area of the state.
Though nobody died, it was gathered that the accident involving a white Civilian Coaster Bus occurred as a result of over speeding as the driver lost control of the vehicle before the crash. 19 adults (9 males and 10 females) were injured out of a total 37 Corps members in the bus.
FRSC Sector Commander Ogun State Command, Clement Oladele who disclosed that the injured victims were evacuated to FRSC Accident Emergency Clinic at Sagamu, added that four of the victims with more serious injuries were referred for further medical treatment at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) Sagamu.

The FRSC Sector Commander advised corps members to caution drivers on dangers of over-speeding, and when such drivers refuse to take up the advise – they should call FRSC toll free number 122 for the FRSC to take necessary disciplinary action against such erring drivers.

Few months ago, it was also reported that three corp members were involved in an accident while returning from camp where they had gone to for their service year orientation. A Facebook user, Marycynthia Ogechukwu reported the news online and revealed that the corp members were severely injured in the accident.
Here’s what she wrote as she shared a video from the accident scene;
“On my way back to Enugu….
This accident just happened…
A bus carrying Corp members straight from camp had a terrible accident, it summersaulted….
No death but about 3 of them were terribly wounded…
God!! it wasnt funny seeing this.
God help us.
Pls pray for them.
May God preserve their lives!! Amen
Thank God it happened close to UNTH…. An ambulance was called and they responded immediately!!”
