A PDP supporter identified as Egbe Yusuf was killed by suspected thugs in Ikere, Ekiti State.
There has been a resurgence of violence and killings ahead
of the governorship election taking place in the state next month, with
PDP and APC trading blames.
A chieftain of the APC in the state, Prince Dayo Adeneye on Monday, accused Governor Ayo Fayose of instigating violence.
Prince Adeneye, who made the statement through the Director
of Media of his campaign organisation, Mr Omoniyi Ojo, said the
governor should be held responsible for the destruction of billboards
and other campaign materials of APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
However, Fayose said the ambition of Adeneye and his defeat
at the PDP governorship primary was responsible for his unguarded
statements against his administration.
