Germany has excluded 2014 World Cup hero, Mario Gotze and Liverpool

Gotze, scorer of the winning goal in the World Cup final four years
ago in Brazil, and Can, who has been fighting to be fit for the
Champions League final against Real Madrid after suffering a back injury
in March, have both been left out of Germany’s preliminary squad for
this summer’s tournament.

The squad and their club-side are as follows: Goalkeepers: Manuel
Neuer (Bayern), Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona), Bernd Leno (Bayer
Leverkusen), Kevin Trapp (PSG).
Defenders: Jerome Boateng (Bayern), Mats Hummels (Bayern), Niklas
Sule (Bayern), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern), Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), Jonas
Hector (Koln), Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha BSC), Jonathan Tah (Bayer
Leverkusen), Matthias Ginter (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Midfielders: Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Draxler (PSG),
Leon Goretzka (Schalke), Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City), Sami Khedira
