HMMM........''Video and photos of underaged children participating in election was from 2015 not this year'' Kano state government says

hehehe..............The Kano state government has denied claims that underaged persons in the state participated in the local government election that took place on February 10th.

Election observers in the state had authenticated videos and photos making the rounds on social media that showed underaged persons allegedly participating in the local government election. INEC has since set up a panel to investigate the matter.

The Kano state government has however denied the claims by the election observers. The state commissioner of Information, Mohammed Garba, at a workshop organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kano yesterday February 19th, said the videos and pictures released recently were captured during the 2015 election and not during the states local government polls.

“The video that went viral on social media contained scenes where INEC card readers were deployed; and nothing of such was used in the last council poll in Kano—we did not use card readers, and there was no event of under-age voting during the 10 February council poll in Kano state. It was recorded during the last 30 March 2015 election… some mischievous persons were behind the spreading of the clips but were missing out in the whole game because what was therein the video happened in 2015. We are happy that INEC has seized the gauntlet to investigate the matter… the outcome of the investigation would exonerate the Kano electoral body.” he said
