The former Manchester United star who won his previous awards in 2008, 2013, 2015 and 2016, was unveiled standing on the Eiffel Tower in France as he clinched the 2017 trophy.
The award crowns his hardworking year after scoring 42 goals across all competitions during the 2016-17 season, leading Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double.

Ronaldo who was also named the Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2016-17 in October, has now equaled Lionel Messi's record of winning the prestigious honor for the fifth time.

For the trip, the 32-year-old Portuguese forward was joined by his brother Hugo Aveiro, mother Maria Aveiro, sisters Katia Aveiro and Elma Aveiro, including his son Cristiano Jr and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

On Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo also became the first player in history to score in each of his team’s six Champions League group games, after netting a goal in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund.
The winner of the award is expected to be announced at 6.45pm.
