PHOTO.....For two years now , Chibok girls are missing...

Hmm...Exactly two years after the abduction of over 200 school girls from Government Secondary School in Chibok town, Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents, the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, on Thursday marched to the Aso Villa, lending a voice to the clamor for their release, Fidelis Chidi blog reports.The BBOG is a leading group pushing the Nigerian government to rescue the Chibok school girls kidnapped on April 14, 2014.


From the BBOG, civil society and religious groups, eminent Nigerians, including some embattled parents of the abducted girl, the message was the same: ‘Free the Chibok girls,’ Bring Back Our Girls.’

Marking the second anniversary, the group trooped to the Aso Rock , the seat of government, to remind the occupants that the primary responsibility of the government is protection of lives and property.
Before the march, the co-convener of the group Aisha Yesufu, addressed newsmen at the Unity Fountain, Abuja. She said: “It’s unbelievable that two years on, we are still talking about Chibok girls in captivity. We are not talking about Chibok girls’ rehabilitation and how far they have come after their captivity. It’s so sad.
“It’s a sad, heartbreaking and painful day, especially talking about the video that has been released by CNN and seeing a parent crying so wretchedly, so painfully.
“Today, apart from being a painful day, is a day we renew our hope.
“As far as the girls are in captivity, Nigeria is in captive, ” Yesufu said.
Led by Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education and leader of the BBOG, the group displayed placards and banners which read “Hope endures, “Bring back our girls now and alive. They lamented the nonchalant and ‘I don’t care’ attitude to rescue the abductees and as well, the government’s seeming inability to do anything about it.
Chanting songs of solidarity, Ezekwesili noted, “It is exactly 731 days since the girls went missing, we will not give up.”
Singing the BBOG song, the group chorused, “Solidarity for ever!!! We shall always fight for our girls.
“Bring back our girls back and alive is our demand.
“The truth and nothing but the truth is all we ask.
“We will not stop until our girls are back and alive.
“We are from Chibok. We are Nigerians, we are fighting for the soul of Nigeria.
“The fight for Chibok girls is the fight for the soul of Nigeria.
“Our core value is Humanity, Discipline,” the group lamented as it marched on to the Aso Villa.” meanwhile..

Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday said the current administration cannot ascertain when the abducted Chibok school girls would be rescued.Osinbajo, while speaking at a roundtable meeting in Abuja, called on Nigerians to exercise patience with the Federal Government, stressing that the return of the girls remains a priority, though cannot tell when.”
According to the Vice President, the military has been charged to do everything possible to ensure that the girls are reunited with their families.
He said, “At every security council meeting that I have attended, the president has always been concerned about Chibok girls. He thinks of how this can be done quickly,” he said.
“But it’s a very delicate issue and we cannot say we can deal with it next week. Every rescue attempt must take the safety of the girls into consideration.
“From the security reported we get, we will be able to bring back the girls but we must exercise some caution and patience and not sound as if it can be done but it’s not being done.”

 

Hehehe...According to Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, if the past government had acted immediately the Chibok girls were kidnapped, its most likely they would have returned home by now. Dogara said this in a series of tweets this morning...na wa oooo
