State Governor, Malam, Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed how the past

The
current regime of President Muhammadu Buhari, however, announced a
budget of N70 million for this year’s anniversary, which took place on
Thursday.
In
a post on his Facebook page, El-Rufai gave the breakdown of the
spendings on the independence anniversaries in the last five years as
follows:
2011 – N13 billion
2012 – N15 billion
2013 – N14 billion
2014 – N22 billion
2015 – N70 million
Commenting
on the development before giving the breakdown, El-Rufai said the
change in spending on the anniversary was what Nigerians voted for by
supporting the All Progressives Congress and Buhari.
He wrote: “Happy Independence Anniversary 🇳🇬NIGERIA🇳🇬
“THE APC-PMB CHANGE WE VOTED FOR…. Good morning and #GODBlessNIGERIA.”
His
post sparked social media debate as many slammed him for singling out
only Jonathan’s regime but excluded Obasanjo’s government where he
served as a minister.
