Over the weekend, the defectors in their hundreds stormed the state Government House to formally announce their defection from the APC and their decision to join the PDP.
Spokesman of the defectors, Alhaji Alhassan Madana, told newsmen shortly after they were welcomed by PDP gubernatorial candidate, that they decided to dump their party because of the lingering power tussles between the APC leaders in the state.
Madana revealed that before their defection to the PDP, they were loyalists of Phms Ubale Hashim one of the APC gubernatorial aspirants who lost during the party’s primary.
According to him, “We were not happy with failure of our party leaders to reconcile themselves and also come up with clear blueprint of our party to the development of Jigawa State if it wins the election. To be at a safer side we now decided to join PDP.
“PDP is well organised political party with matured and purposeful leadership in Jigawa State, also the exemplary leadership of Governor Sule Lamido,” he said.
