Celebrate with friends
Valentine’s Day is also an opportunity to show some love to a best friend or a few good friends. You can throw a small party at home to celebrate and appreciate their friendship and support through the years and have everyone bring some munches and wine to light up the atmosphere. If you prefer, why not go out to the cinema and watch a favourite movie or to a nice restaurant to dine and ignite your friendships for years to come?
It’s a family valentine
Simple things matter in love and marriage, therefore use this day to celebrate your family. Children look forward to Valentine’s Day just as much as their adults, as many schools now encourage children to choose a friend and exchange gifts on the day and the understanding of love and sharing helps the child to appreciate the true meaning of Valentine’s Day which is love and kindness. On Valentine’s Day, show some love to your spouse and children and make them feel very special too. Take them out to a nice spot where you and the children would have fun, celebrate the day and love you share as a family, your simple expressions of love and time spent together will certainly be valuable and memorable too.
Celebrating with the needy
The less-privileged in our society also want to feel loved on Valentine’s Day. Perhaps you don’t feel like celebrating for various reasons or you want to spend the day doing something more positive and charitable. If you have a large heart you want to stretch towards others and you feel the need to give and touch hearts instead of waiting to receive, why not take some gifts to them and spend the day at the orphanage and bring a smile to many faces through your selflessness and act of kindness?
Notes
  • You may not believe in Valentine’s Day celebration and you are not alone considering the massive campaigns and drive to persuade us to show some love and give a special gift to a loved one on Valentine’s Day.
  • Perhaps you have a Valentine and can’t afford to buy that special gift. But it is also fair to say that in times past, the true meaning of Valentine’s Day has been misunderstood and misinterpreted to suit individual’s motives, there are so many other ways to show someone that you truly care if you cannot afford to buy gifts.
However you decide to spend your Valentine’s Day, remember that love doesn’t cost a thing, ensure that you plan well, spend wisely and make the day memorable for all concerned.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO YOU ALL!
