Until his deployment, Mbu was in charge of Zone 7, headquartered in Abuja.
Making this known in a statement on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu said Mbu would now move Lagos and Ogun States commands.
Mbu, who came into prominence following his battle with the Rivers State Governor, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, would now take over from Umaru Manko, who has been moved to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State.
The police boss had in a recent statement vowed to wipe out any village where a police officer under his Command was killed.
Ojukwu said the redeployment of Mbu and other AIGs was part of the ongoing reorganization in the Nigeria Police Force by the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
Ojukwu added in the statement: “While charging the Senior Officers to bring their experience to bear on their new postings and be more service-oriented in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, the IGP urges the public to partner closely with the force in its determination to ensure improved safety and security of our country.
