Manchester
City completely battered West Brom in the first half at the Hawthorns,
scoring three unreplied goals through Fernando, Yaya Toure and David
Silva. Brown Ideye’s late goal was merely a consolation strike.
In
other games, Manchester United beat Newcastle 3-1, Liverpool won 1-0
away at Burnley, Southampton humbled Crystal Palace 3-1 and Hull City
came from behind to defeat Sunderland 3-1.

Sigurdsson’s free-kick proved to be the winner, as Swansea beat Aston
Villa 1-0, Stoke City won 1-0 away at Everton and Leicester City lost
1-2 to Tottenham Hotspurs.
