Jonathan picks presidential nomination and expression of interest forms
The Peoples Democratic Party, in a dramatic move, has thrown open its doors for interested members of the party to come forward and pick its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms.
This new direction was announced Monday by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in Abuja.
The party urged members of the party who are interested in participating in the presidential election to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms latest by the 6th of November, 2014.
In what looked like a u-turn on the adoption of President Goodluck Jonathan as the sole presidential aspirant, the ruling on Monday urged all members interested to pick the form.
The party had insisted on not given out nomination forms to any other member of the party, insisting that it had already endorsed President Jonathan as its sole aspirant.
The party turned down Dr. AbdulJelili Tafawa Balewa, and Prof. Akasoba Duke Abiola who had paid the required fees.
Metuh, however, said the National Working Committee of the party has ruled that interested members are now free to enter the race.

In a statement, Metuh added: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wishes to inform all aspirants to all positions for the 2015 general election that the deadline for the purchase and collection of all nomination forms has been extended to Thursday, November 6, 2014″.
